Question: Discuss about the Pro-social organizational behavior. Answer: Pro-social organizational behaviors are one of the most essential parts of any organization. It has some important implications and consequences in the working organization. This is important as it includes many types of behavior in but it is not limited to helping behaviors, co-operating behaviors and sharing. There are many kinds of pro-social organizational behaviors. The pro-social behavior is designed to benefit others. The intention is to benefit the society as a whole. This includes helping other individual, co-operating with other individuals. This is sometimes related to altruism. This is of extreme importance in the any organization. Any organizations cannot run smoothly without the cooperation of one another. Therefore pro-social behavior includes factors like cooperation, empathy, reciprocation and many other similar actions (Awadh and Alyahya 2013). Culture is an important part of the positive pro-social organizational behavior. When a new employee becomes a part of the company, his behavior gets influenced by the organizational culture. It is a nature of the human being to adapt and fit in the new environment. If the organizational culture motivates the employees and allows free and open communication then the employees will be able to speak their mind out without fear. This implies reciprocation. It is important for one employee to the other employee. This keeps the culture of any organization healthy and friendly. This fosters certain optimistic traits that are beneficial for the organization. The pro-social organizational behavior usually includes the development of the traits in children. A child grows up as a complete individual and he or she becomes a part of any organization in the future. Every child grows up with a value and their value decides their behavior in any organization. They join any organization for money therefore, money is an important factor and that is why the employees show up at the workplace in hope of getting salary at the end of the month. The consequence of pro- social organizational behavior suggests that the employees need to be motivated so that they can perform to the best of their ability. There is a scope to motivate the employees by providing rewards and setting realistic and attainable goals (Borman 2014). Pro- social organizational behavior influences the decision- making of the people. The companies which are controlled by effective communication have the ability to make perfect decision because they are aware of the business context. Every human being is dependent on one another. The behaviors of every individual are tied with one another and it is dependent on one another. The communication therefore has to be clear and transparent. It is another major aspect of pro-social behavior. The consequence of not maintain a proper pro-social behavior might lead to miscommunication which might not be healthy for any organization. It should include motivation which is effective in increasing the production in any organization (Luthans, Luthans and Luthans 2015). This is beneficial for reducing morality risk, improving physical health and reducing stress in work and in life. Pro-social Organizational behavior refers to the behavior and attitudes of the employees and also the organization. It is not only dependent on the individual and group behavior but also the actual behavioral pattern required for achieving employee performance and their dedication towards the organization. The group structures of the company such as leadership group or employee work teams make up the organizational culture. These groups have different rules and norms for their internal membership and behavior. The pro-social behavior of any individual in any organization has a positive effect on enjoyment, effort, performance and commitment while facing any competition in the organization. It is quite different from the antisocial behavior which has negative effects on the organization (Pinder 2014). The owner of the business will expect the kind of behavior from the employees that will be beneficial for the organization. Therefore the behavior of any individual should be pro-social and not antisocial. The pro-social behavior would have implications for enjoyment, effort, performance and commitment towards work.
